Board Games

The children in Year 5 have been making board games in English.

The children are in the middle of a unit about instructions and will use their board games in order to instruct their friends how to play the game that they have created.

Here is a photo of Harry and his Minions board game.  It is lots of fun to play and we can't wait to see some wonderful instructions to go with this game.

Well done, Harry!

Windmill Making and Testing

The children in Upper Prep one have been completing an investigation based on their own windmills.  Some of the children decided to investigate the size of the windmill whilst some thought about the design or the material of the windmill.

Here are a few pictures to show the children and their work.  There are more pictures to come so watch this space!

Happy Half Term!

Wishing you all a very happy half term.  You have worked incredibly hard during this last half term and deserve a great break.

Have fun, have a rest and I look forward to seeing you on Monday 22nd February.

Well done, Ryan!

The children in Upper Prep 1 are continuing their IPC unit, Making Things Go, with enthusiasm.

Having completed lots of work on solar and wind energy, they have turned their attention to tidal energy and the benefits of this form of energy production for island nations such as the UK.

Ryan produced this lovely poster to share his learning.

Great work, Ryan!

School Council

Our Prep School Council reps are continuing to work hard despite the current challenges of lockdown.

They met recently to discuss the importance of community, and the benefits when young people become involved in helping and supporting both their school community and local community. The children have created a fantastic assembly which they hope to deliver in person later in the term.

Well done to Martha, Bethea and Ellie for spending some of their form time working on this assembly and well done to Harriet in Lower Prep for also adding some excellent suggestions from home.

Great work, girls!

Spot The Difference!

In form time today, the children in Upper Prep 1 have enjoyed a game of spot the difference!

For this game the children took it in turns to turn off their camera and change something about themselves or their surroundings.  When they turned their camera back on we had to spot the difference!

We had lots of fun playing this game and think it might become a lockdown favourite with the children becoming more and more creative with their differences.

Below is a screen shot from before any changes were made and then a screen shot from after.

We challenge you to spot the differences!

Rebeca's Step by Step Guide to Making a Balloon Rocket

The children in Upper Prep 1 have been making balloon rockets as part of their learning in IPC.

Rebeca has gone one step further and has independently created this wonderful step by step video to show you how to make your own rocket.

The video can be viewed by clicking on the YouTube link below.

Well done, Rebeca - fantastic work!
