Inclusion Week

This week, as part of inclusion week, the children have been thinking about what the word inclusion actually means.

This video, put together by Miss Fenny, shares the children's thoughts.

I'm sure you will agree, they have done a fabulous job and have really understood the idea of inclusion and what it looks like day to day.

What a Wonderful World!

The Prep School Children have been learning some sign language this week, having thought about deafness and the challenges deaf people face.

Here is a short video to show how well they have done.

We hope you enjoy it.

Chicks

The children in Upper Prep 1 have enjoyed visiting our resident chicks this morning and giving them food and cuddles!

Bees!

In IPC, Upper Prep 1 children have been learning how flowers attract bees and insects.

Here is Harry's super poster to share the information that he has been learning.

Well done!

House Poetry Competition

This morning we held our annual Poetry Competition.

This was a closely fought battle with all of the houses performing to an excellent standard.

After Mrs Williams had given her feedback, Cleveland House were crowned the winners for their performance of the poem, 'The Power of One'.

Well done to you all for your participation and a special well done to all of you who are in Cleveland House.

Competition Time

Upper Prep 1 children have been working hard over the last few weeks to create their entries for the stamp competition that Miss Storey has launched.

Our form time has seen many discussions about our heroes and the children have had some lovely ideas for their own stamp designs.  Unsurprisingly, the NHS staff have featured on many of the designs, but frontline family members, education staff and cleaners have also made an appearance on the children's entries.

We have now passed over our designs and have everything crossed that we may catch the eyes of the judges!

Roots!

In Upper Prep 1, the children have been out into the school grounds to complete some weeding.

We are currently thinking about the structure and function of roots in our IPC unit, Roots, Shoots and Fruits and looking at weed roots has provided some excellent examples.

The children have now begun some observational drawings to take a closer look at the root system.

We also took the opportunity to plant 2 small trees which we are looking forward to watching grow over the next few years.
